This year, Nene Valley Tree services tree-cycling campaign lifts off with a blast, with huge support from Safe Local Trades, and Just helping, with all proceeds going to the wonderful local Thorpe Hall Sue Ryder Hospice.
Join our campaign – We here at Nene Valley Tree Services are on a mission, encouraging all local residents to buy a real Christmas tree this year. Seriously. Pretty please. Do it!
Please buy a real tree and support your LOCAL seller!
Then, in the New Year, allow us to recycle it for you, to help to raise vital funds for our fabulous local Sue Ryder hospice!
There are plenty of real tree vendors in our lovely local vicinity, plus you’ll be helping local business, and the local economy, so there’s no excuse not to buy one, and there’s nothing more magical than the smell of a real Christmas tree to liven up your home this festive season (plus there’s health benefits and of course environmental benefits too!) Click here to read more!
Our green initiative has now gone live and you can apply online to have your real Christmas tree collected from your home, between Friday 7th and Monday 10th January 2022. It will cover those who live in the PE1, PE2, PE3, PE4, PE5, PE6 7, PE7 and PE8 postcodes.
(When the new page opens, just click on “Register Tree for collection“)
An online donation is welcomed in return, which will help Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough to continue to offer its care and support to local people with life-limiting conditions and their loved ones.
Not only will it raise vital funds, but Treecycling offers a green solution to the problem of what to do with your tree after the Christmas festivities have ended.
After the Christmas trees have been collected from people’s homes, our team here at Nene Valley Tree Services will chip them down into mulch, which will then be donated to local deserving sites such as the grounds of Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice and donated to local farms, both reducing landfill and supporting local businesses too.
Nene Valley Tree Services has been supporting Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice through Christmas Treecycling since 2018. Since then, the scheme has grown and raised more than £7,000 for local families needing care.
Andrew and Lucy from Nene Valley Tree Services said: “We are pleased to announce we are preparing to support Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice’s Treecycling project once again. Christmas trees that have served their purpose can often end up littering people’s back gardens for months after the festive season is over – this is a green and practical solution which also raises vital funds for charity.
“Last year, because of the pandemic, we sadly couldn’t offer the large collection service we wanted. However, we still managed to raise £2,132 for the hospice thanks to all our wonderful customers, and some help from good friends and fellow business owners – including some from Safe Local Trades. We are determined to help make Treecycling in January 2022 bigger and better than ever before – make sure you don’t go anywhere else for your Christmas tree chipping!”
Joely Garner, Community Fundraising Manager at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice, added: “Each Treecyling donation will help to ensure we can continue to be there when it matters and fill people’s last days with love. We are so grateful to everyone in the local community who have supported Treecycling over the past four years. A special thank you to Andy, Lucy and the team at Nene Valley Tree Services – their tree-rific support helps to make Treecycling happen and we are blown away by their dedication to raise more and more funds for our compassionate care. A big thank you also to Safe Local Trades for their kind support.”
